‘Twas the night before sports camps, when all through the town

Every child was stirring, all over and around

The shirts were designed and ordered with care

In colors that the staff and students would love to wear;

The campers were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of J-Mo danced in their heads;

And Papa G with his donuts, and Professor J with his lessons

Had just started preparing for their Skybacher sessions

When across the town, alarm clocks rang with a clatter,

Children sprang from their beds throwing their clothes on that were a scatter;

Away to Freedom Middle School their parents drove in a hurry,

Once parked the kids jumped out in a flurry

The staff was there waiting for them to arrive

Just as excited to watch the “More Than” sports camps come alive;

When, what to their delighted eyes did appear,

But parents and their kids smiling ear to ear

With a little time to register, and get them all set,

The kids grabbed some basketballs and headed off to a net.

More and more children piled into the gym

Looking out for basketballs bouncing off the rim

Welcome, Jay, and Mitchell, and Nick, and Daisy!

Nice to meet you, Jacob and Austin and Chloe and Maisie!

Then John started the day by sharing some great news

His message one that they can always use

They broke into age groups and started some drills,

But those were interspersed with lots of fun thrills.

The staff and the campers got to know one another,

While games were played, and a few kids cried for their mother

The day came to an end and with freeze pops in hand

While sharing fun stories, the children filled back to their minivans

The first day may be over and done

But luckily there are plenty of sports camps still to come

So, if you haven’t registered yet

It’s not too late to get your kids set

Just sitting around the house could be such a bummer

When you could join us for a “More Than” sports camp summer!
