I was nearly one year ago, that we first received the keys to The Freedom Place. At the time it was a church that had been unused for several months, but we had a vision of a community center full of life and “freedom”.
Fast Forward to a year later and we have seen so much transition on the place. The Sanctuary is now a mini gym/worship space, the fellowship hall is completely cleaned up and painted. The pastor’s office a full fitness room, and so much more.
When the weather started to change, we were once again ready to start on some of the outdoor projects. A men’s leadership group from Northbridge Community Church contacted us about having a service day. The men came out and cleaned and cleared up brush, built a new carpetball table, and added some lights to the parking lot area. It was a great day of clean-up and clear out. Thank you Northbridge Community Church!

Just 3 days later we would have the people of Portage Learning join us for another work day! Nearly 40 people helped mount tvs, clean the kitchen and closet areas, clear more brush, prep the sight for a shed and a fence, paint the brick pillars and cement monutment, and add security cameras. It was an amazing day, and made The Freedom Place look amazing! Thank you Portage Learning!

We just finished the fence with the help of our friends at Bonzo & Son Construction, and Native Brush painting. We feel overwhelmingly blessed by all of it, and can’t wait to see even more life, youthfulness, and true freedom take place at The Freedom Place. Don’t forget to check it out, and The Freedom Place can be rented for birthdays, parties, and events.
