The idea behind “The Great Big Group Date” is that no young person would spend Valentine’s weekend feeling like they are unloved. We have been doing this event even before we were running Skybacher Ministries.
This year 40 of us went to Sim’s Bowling Lanes for some pizza, snacks, and bowling fun. Pins were flying, and pizza was disappearing at a rapid pace. It was a great time.
After we were done bowling it was time to head to The Freedom Place for a sundae bar. This all was one year to the day of the dedication and opening of The Freedom Place. At that night we prayed that The Freedom Place would be a building filled with life and energy. A place where people would experience freedom in Christ. After delicious sundaes most of the young people went up stairs for some volleyball and celebration. It was an amazing picture of The Freedom Place being filled with life, energy, freedom, and lots of young people left feeling and knowing that they are loved.
