We just wrapped up one of the hottest summer camp weeks on record and it still was amazing!!  What a blessing – we had over 100 kids again this week and with no power on Tuesday it was a bit challenging, but we are grateful for power restored and an amazing water day and a great closing wrap up today with some great conversations with new families.  It s been exciting seeing how many new families have come the last 2 weeks.  We passed out 112 t-shirts last week and over 70 today!!  That’s incredible!  We are so grateful for the chance to get to speak truth into the hearts of so many people.

Last summer we initiated Testimony Tuesday for our staff.  We provide a small breakfast and invite a local pastor to come and share their testimony.  Last Tuesday Renae shared her journey over the last 7 months dealing with a torn ACL and the ways God has used this season in her life.  This past Tuesday , we had our nephew Jake Crognale come and share his story.  He challenged the staff about overcoming their fears and not allowing those fears to take hold in their thoughts, but to commit to pray and allowing God to speak into their lives.  Jake was a camper at our first ever basketball camp 17 years ago!!  Also a HUGE shoutout to the Deal family for blessing the staff this week with breakfast sandwiches – it was a treat for sure!  This has been such a wonderful addition to our summer camp ministry to the staff.

Our summer interns are still raising support for the rest of their summer ministry – if you would like to support them, please send a donation and earmark in the memo summer interns.  We also are still raising summer support, and so if you would like to help with our personal Directors support, please earmark Director support.  Remember that all support at this time will be towards our matching grant that was offered to us by the Patterson Christian ministry fund.

We are excited that in the next couple weeks we have some work being started on the Freedom Place – please pray for all the details of that!  Once the sanctuary is gutted, we will be looking to lay an all purpose floor and if you would like to be a part of making that happen (purchasing the floor, working to lay the floor, etc) reach out and let us know.  The other big task is adding protection to the stained glass windows.

So many exciting things on the horizon – Flag Football camp is next week.  We then have a week break and then we have 3 more sessions.  We will also be having our Rubber Duck Derby at the end of the summer camps, as well as our 2nd golf outing on August 11 at 2p at Blackhawk golf course.  We need volunteers for that day, as well as sponsors for the event.   The last big event of the summer is our summer Kalahari which is Monday, Aug 19 – Tuesday, Aug 20.

We appreciate you all covering us in your prayers for all mentioned above
