The previous week we were in an actual blizzard, and this weekend it was a Polar Vortex of freezing cold temperatures, but that didn’t stop us from hosting our annual Broomball Blizzard. Broomball is a sport played in many of the northern states, but we have been doing it at Skybacher Ministries for the past 21 years.
This year we tried to get a few more family teams, and were hopeful for some more high school teams as well. The young adults and Skybacher alumni know all to well the fun this event brings.
10 total teams took to the ice in divisions of Just For Fun and Open Competitive. Teams were slipping and sliding all over the ice as the goals poured in, and so did the celebrations.
At the break we had a message to “Be Bold”, “Be a Blessing”, and to keep “Believing for Breakthrough” from 2 Timothy 1:7.
Then the playoffs kicked off, and so did the heated competition. In the end The Polor Bears of Doom won our Open Competive Division. The Bulldogs won the Just For Fun, and Boomshakalaka were our family winners.
An amazing night of fun that was not detered by the extreme cold temperatures. Thank you to Native Brush Painting for sponoring the tournament, and to Brady’s Run Ice Arena for hosting the event.
