We began 2020 with the Cosmic Clash Dodgeball Tourney it was a great way to kickoff a new decade! In February we don’t usually host a tournament but have two big events in the Someone Special Dance and Great Big Group Date.

The Someone Special Dance had to be moved because of the only snow-day of the year. While we were disappointed, it gave us time as a ministry to readjust and get prepared. While the turnout was not our largest it was a small great venue and students and families once again had a blast dancing on newspaper, doing the hokey pokey, taking selfies, and of course doing the limbo! Thank you to everyone who participated in and made it possible.

Also in February we held our annual Great Big Group Date with pizza, wings, and fries from North Park Lounge, and then is was off to one of our all-time favorite destinations at Laser Storm McKnight for some fast and furious laser tag action. We had exactly 10 boys, and 10 girls. So naturally it was boys vs. girls. The girls kicked the boys butts, and won 3 straight as there was no escape for the boys on this night. It still lead to a great break in the school year of food and fun.

Finally we started our Esports nights with a Mario Kart tourney, and A Super Smash Bros. tourney. These events have been a great start to something new and exciting for students that maybe aren’t as into physical sports they can come and compete and still here the same gospel message. Through the first two weeks it has been a lot of fun. Tyler Mohrbacher won both weeks but he can’t be good at everything so someone will knock him off soon.

Now it’s onto March and April where we look forward to our Kalahari Weekend, The 3-on-3 Slamrock, The Dinner Auction, and continuing Pray & Play, Girls Group, and our Esports nights.
