Girls Group, a Bible study for Skybacher’s high school freshman and sophomore girls, has been such a sweet and fun ministry for the past 4 years. Starting in the fall of 2016, the group now includes 13 girls who have committed to studying God’s Word and growing closer together. In the past, the group has studied the the ministry of Jesus, the 12 disciples, the Gospel of John, and women of the Bible.

The book of Philippians is the focus this spring, and it will be the first time the group has read through an entire book of the Bible together. As the girls study this letter of Paul’s, they are learning about its main theme of joy – joy in suffering, joy in serving, joy in believing, and joy in giving. It’s definitely the most challenging study that they’ve done to date. But it’s such a joy to see their willingness to dig into and discover what God’s Word really says in the book of Philippians.
Of course, no Girls Group is complete without food, dessert, and games. Some favorite games are families, signs, fishbowl, and slapjack. And if you don’t know what any of those games are, you might just have to ask one of the girls to show you how to play!

The girls also have done several service projects together, helping with Helen Faison trunk or treat, serving at the Someone Special Dance, and recently they wiped out the boys at laser tag in our Annual Great Big Group Date.
