Jonny Fiscus has been a 3 year starter on offense and defense for the football team.  He has 84 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble this season.

Get to know Emilee and Jonny better through their interview with Skybacher Sports.

What do you think of when you hear “Skybacher Ministries”?  Emilee: When I think of Skybacher Ministries I think of good memories and great people. I love helping out with the sports camps and have great memories of coaching children in sports.  Jonny: I think of getting together with friends and having a good time.

What has Skybacher Ministries taught you about sports?  Emilee:  Skybacher Ministries has taught where it all started at one point.  It was not too long ago that I was a little girl trying to figure out the game.  It also showed me the joy of sports and how much kids benefit from them. Never forget why you love the game!  Jonny:  It has taught me to be a good sport. Don’t get too disappointed when you lose, or too high when you win. Just have fun!!

What is your biggest sports accomplishment? Emilee:  My biggest accomplishment was being named an All-Section player the past 2 seasons in soccer.  I also placed 2nd at WPIAL’s in track 4×800 meter relay and made it twice to the State Championships. Jonny:  Making it to the championship game in Midgets.

What are your plans for the future?  Emilee: I have plans to attend Washington & Jefferson or Duquesne and major in Pre-Medicine on a Biology tract, with the hopes of someday becoming a doctor.  Jonny:  I would like to major in Sports Medicine and continue to participate in sports.

Favorite movie?  Emilee: The Replacements.  Jonny:  Division III: Football’s Finest

Pre-game ritual? Emilee:  I love to listen to music before a game usually Taylor Swift or some Reggae Music.  Jonny:  I clear everything else out of my head and focus on the game.  I also have this disgusting drink to help get rid of cramps.  It tastes like straight vinegar!

How has your faith helped you as an athlete?  Emilee:  My faith has helped me to remember that “Grace Happens”. Sometimes you run an awful race, or play terrible, but you have to know that there is grace. You have to have faith that somehow, someway things will find a way to work themselves out.  Jonny:  It has helped me keep a positive attitude.  I remember that it is just a game, and if you lose there are a lot of worse things that could happen in your life.

Congratulations to Emilee and Jonny on being great sports role models for their community.  May God bless you in all you continue to do.
