Hard to believe but already had a GREAT start to summer more than sports camps 2024!! We had 107 campers this week and filled both the elementary and middle school gyms with fun, encouragement, laughs, basketball and most importantly the truth of God’s word with a character virtue and Scripture each day. It was an incredible week! We had 38 staff this week too!
We launched a new program called Coaches in Training. Esther (Hartman) Dymond is the director of that program and we are super excited as that continues to grow. This is intended for 7th graders going into 8th grade and they have mentor coaches that are college students. They get paired with a little kids team for the week and have specific times during each camp day where they are intentional with those kids. We are working through a servant leadership devotional, and Esther has come up with intentional questions of the day for them to answer at day’s end. We had wonderful feedback for the first week of the program. This is exciting, and we are hopeful for the ways it will develop future staff, and young leaders, and the ways it will grow each of them in their walk with the Lord.

Update on the Freedom Place – we have been having lots of meetings and God has been opening doors for people to come alongside us and plan some painting and some demo and cleaning up the outside area too. It is super exciting!! Right now our energy is focused on camps, but God is doing all kinds of stuff behind the scenes to get really neat things in place. We are selling pews, 2 pianos and a solid wooden desk. We also are praying for creative inexpensive ways to protect the beautiful stained glass windows from youth sports activity. Stay tuned!!
