Back in the early days of Skybacher Ministries there were 4 staple tournaments that we hosted – dodgeball, flag football, volleyball, and a little sport called broomball. We have played broomball at Skybacher since the very beginning. It’s a sport that is on a pretty level playing field and not many students have experience playing it. We before the pandemic had purchased the equipment to play but we hadn’t actually held a tournament since 2019. It was time to bring it back!

We had to do a little teaching to a whole new generation about what we like to call the “Greatest Show on Ice”. Happily we welcomed 9 teams on the night several high school teams, some Skybacher alumni teams, a few youth groups and a family.

It was an absolute blast of slipping, sliding, scoring goals, and lots of cheers and smiles! We also were even able to grab some boxes fo Krispy Kreme donuts just like the old days when there was still one in Cranberry twp. It was an amazing night and we were able to talk to students about how God has the power to resurrect dreams that we have maybe thought were dead! We can’t wait to have another Broomball Blizzard again! Congrats to Souled Out for lifting the Blizzard Cup!
