This December was a great ending to a great year of ministry! At Hangtime Basketball, we were thankful to have 111 elementary school students participate this year. Students worked on their dribbling, shooting, and passing during after-school practices before playing an in-house game each week in front of family and friends. Besides the laughter and virtue lessons, it was rewarding to see how much progress the students made in their basketball skills. Thank you to the 10 volunteers who helped coach throughout the 9-week program, and thank you to Fun Fore All for their donation of a $5 voucher for each participant!
Our last tournament of 2016 was Broomball Blizzard at Brady’s Run Ice Arena. 35 players shot, shuffled, slipped, and slid their way around the ice. After John delivered his message on receiving the gift of Christ into our hearts this Christmas, Sold Out took home the championship.
To wrap-up Pray & Play, we had our annual Christmas party at Laser Storm. The group played 3 games of laser tag finishing with a game of staff vs. kids (with the staff handily defeating the kids, of course). While enjoying pizza and cookies, we also did a white elephant exchange in the spirit of the gift-giving season.
We want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We also invite you to pray for our upcoming 2017 and that we could continue to show our students a picture of who God created them to be in Christ Jesus.
