It had been since 2019 that we had done a live auction in person. Like many things when the pandemic hit, we thought we might never have things return to what we knew. After several years of an online auction to raise funds for our summer camp program, we had inquiries about maybe once again returning to a live event. Through God’s grace we were able to make that happen this year, and it was just in time to celebrate our 20th year of sports ministry! The attendance for the event was down from the last time we hosted this event but that didn’t stop us from having an incredible evening and raising over $5000. Dinner was provided from J&J’s Catering and through our sponsor Portage Learning. Kristie put together a great little video of former Skybacher counselors and alumni sharing how Skybacher Ministries has impacted them. We then moved onto some table trivia where our founders and directors John and Kristie hosted the trivia and gave little history bites about the ministry. Then Jacob Crognale a long time Skybacher participant got up and shared a testimony of how things he learned at Skybacher Ministries as a camper and counselor are still being used today. After that John got up and shared the story of Skybacher Ministries and how God has blessed, provided, and been faithful through the 20 years! The auction time started and participants bid on huge stuffed “Peeps”, Kalahari weekends, Penguins tickets, flower arrangements, and more. Our auctioneer Chuck Speicher made it fun for all. We truly were blessed by the night and the celebration of God’s faithfulness! Here’s to 20 more!
